Using your information space for special promotions is a great way to drive traffic to your site and help the community learn more about you. You can tag your radio or TV spots and direct people to log on to your site, click on your promotion and enter to win. 

Here is a great an example of a how Janice is currently using her space to promote her business.

  • Mother's Day, Janice's Wildflower Cottage is giving away a beautiful $100 bouquet. Customers can enter at the store or via her information space giving more people the opportunity to participate and learn more about Janice's Wildflower Cottage.   • How-To Get the Most from Your Space - Free!

  • Space Editor Enhancements

Adding Images and Media from the Web - We have enhanced the Post-its, About Us, Information, Events, and Headline sections in the Editor to make adding images, video, audio, and Flash Animation from the Web even easier. To add an Image or Media, simply click-on the Image or Media Icon and paste in the location of the File Location on the Web (URL) into the box provided.

Spell Checking - now included in the Post-its, About Us, Information, Events, and Headline sections in the Space Editor. To use spell check, simply click-on the "abc" Icon in the editor.

Help - Along with the existing Tool Tips, you can also click on the "?" Help Icon in the Post-its, About Us, Information, Events, and Headline sections in the Space Editor to get help on how to use the enhanced editing features.

  • Reminders

New Features Forum - On the localispace home page, there is a link at the Bottom of the Page titled "New Features". We recommend you click on this link to view details about new or improved features at localispace. Most of the new features have been added because of YOUR suggestions (thank you!). We have added a lot of new goodies over the last several months so please take a moment and check it out.

Services Help - To get help with our services simply click on the Help Icon at the top of most pages to access Customer Support. When we are Online, you will be able to Chat with a Customer Support Representative. When we are offline, you can use the form provided to quickly send us your questions or comments. Please feel free to use Help (on the top of most pages) for all your sales, support, and customer service needs.  

How to find the most recent Newsletter - There is a Link at the Bottom of the Home Page titled "Recent Newsletter" for you to view the most recent Newsletter.

I hope your year is going well. Things have been very exciting around here.

We have made our search and information services even better, and wow, we are getting ready to launch our Domain and Hosting, Customer Marketing, eCommerce, Community Networking, and Weblog Services. These services will begin to round out what is needed for a complete Community Information System Solution. I'll speak out more about our new services in our next newsletter. Stay tuned. 

Turning your Space into a Workhorse. In this issue, I'm speaking out about how you, or your assistant, can setup and maintain your Space ("website") to help keep your customers coming back.  Here are a few brief tips.

  • Make your site easy to use - and useful. I'm squeezing two guidelines into one here. Research shows that sites win credibility points by being both easy to use and useful. Some businesses forget about users when they cater to their own company's ego or try to show the dazzling things they can do with web technology. Information Spaces are designed to be easy to use by the consumer.
  • Describe (text and images) what your Business Offers. Consumers want to know why they should do Business with you - tell them in your Space. You should setup your Information Space to provide answers to questions your customers typically asks and provide information to your customers you want to highlight about your business. Your space is a great way to do both very inexpensively. Give them Answers!
  • Make it easy for your Customers to contact you. A simple way to boost your site's credibility is by making your contact information clear: phone number, address, store hours, and email address. Also, make sure you have your Message Center turned on (in the editor, options).
  • Update your Space's content often. People like Spaces that show they have been recently updated.  One example to do this would be to tell your customers about certain new services or products you have received or are promoting on a particular date. This date will show the consumer the space has been updated recently.  You should update your Space Weekly, if not Daily - Very Important!
